Lakers sign Dylan Windler on two-way contract after record-breaking performance

The Lakers have made a move following their fourth straight loss on Friday night. LA signed 27-year-old guard and forward Dylan Windler to a two-way contract.

Windler has been playing in the G-League for the Knicks affiliate and had a 23-point and 33-rebound performance on Friday. The 33 rebounds set a new record for most rebounds in a G-League game.

Windler has played in 87 career games, averaging 3/2/1, shooting 41.6% from the field and 32.5% from three. The former first-round pick averaged 15/14/2 in three games in the G-League. 

Windler will provide depth at the wing and bring depth and energy to a Lakers team on a big losing skid. LA waived Alex Fudge to make room for Windler.

Dylan Windler has four years of service, which is usually too many for a two-way player.

However, since Windler missed a season in his first four years, he's eligible to sign a two-way deal.

He is an experienced player to be a two-way deal who could provide urgency for this struggling Lakers team.

This is likely the first move of many to come as LA tries to get back on track after falling to 17-19.
