Vincent rehabbed for almost two months before returning for one game. He appeared in the contest on December 20th against the Chicago Bulls, playing 14 minutes. After the game, the swelling returned, and Vincent is now considering surgery.
The 27-year-old guard signed a three-year $33 million deal with the Lakers this offseason. Vincent has only appeared in five games, averaging 5/1/3 with 1.2 steals, shooting 37.5% from the field and 11.8% from three.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Vincent’s camp is exhausting all other options before settling on surgery.
This injury news is a tough blow for LA, as they were set to have a fully healthy roster. D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and LeBron James will continue to be the main ball-handlers, with Vincent potentially out long-term. The Lakers will miss Vincent’s point-of-attack defense, playmaking, and shot-making off the bench.
